Company History.

Mary Roach Insurance Ageny (MRI), founded in 1992 and incorporated in 1993, started in a home office in Fresno, California. While the company’s start was humble, founder Mary Roach came to the table with more than a decade of experience in the insurance industry, almost all of it focused specifically on crop insurance.

Since its inception, MRI has continued to grow and evolve, moving from the home office to increasingly larger office space over the years, all while honoring its singular purpose of providing farmers with professional, trustworthy crop insurance products and services.

Over the years, the niche agency has made a conscious decision to specialize in crop insurance rather than to expand into other insurance product lines. This dedication to a single purpose and client base has been key to the firm’s success.

MRI has grown eight-fold in its nearly two-decade history, and serves clients throughout the state of California and into Arizona. From grape growers in Lake County to avocado growers in San Diego County, and citrus growers throughout both states, MRI is meeting the unique risk management needs of nearly 1,000 farming entities.

Today, MRI is the largest provider of crop insurance in Fresno, and one of only a handful of agencies with a singular focus on crop insurance in the state of California.
